An Ireland / UK co-production of a film written & directed by Audrey O’Reilly and co-produced by Borderline Productions and Zanzibar Films, Executive Producer Steve Walsh of Steve Walsh Productions: IT TAKES THREE TO TANGO. Development is being supported by the Irish Film Board, Northern Ireland Screen and MEDIA.
Short Synopsis
Single mother Cathy, her eight-year old daughter Molly and agoraphobic mother Brenda are living in a rut. It saddens Molly that her mother has been so miserable she split with Molly’s father. When Molly makes friends with Zare, the Eastern European gypsy she finds squatting in her secret hideout, she initially keeps it secret. Cathy eventually finds out and, though initially wary of Zare, she agrees to take tango classes from him in order to be more involved in Molly’s life. Zare is a breath of fresh air and soon Cathy and he find themselves falling in love. However, Zare has a secret which threatens to destroy the family’s fragile new-found happiness.
