Keith Wright
Born in Sheffield, England in 1971. Keith Wright became interested in films and filmmaking after his parents held a number of late night horror film screenings. Using an old Super-8 camera he'd bought from a junk shop, he began to teach himself the craft of filmmaking and made a number of experimental short films that included exploding heads and possessed underwear. After graduating with a diploma in film editing from the National Film and Television School, England, Keith returned to writing and directing with the multi-award winning short films WHERE'S BINGO BETTY? (1999) Which was later acquired by Channel 4 Television in the UK and LONG IN THE TOOTH (2000) which told the bizarre story of a failed scarecrow. Keith went on to develop and direct his first feature length film TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER (2008), an improvised comedy about a fifty five year old filmmaker. Keith's films often explore the boundaries between fact and fiction by using a combination of improvisation, documentary techniques and professional and non-professional actors to create a unique sense of realism and humanity.
