Wojtek Smarzowski

´The Wedding´ is Wojtek Smarzowski´s second feature film, his first feature, Malzowina (1998), won the Special Prize of the Young Jury at the Koszalin Film Festival. Smarzowski began his career as a director of music videos after studying film science at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, and graduating from the Faculty of Film Photography at the Lódz Film School. Smarzowski has won awards for his TV theatre production of ´Kuracja´, which won the Best Director Award at the 2002 Interpretations Festival of Directors Art in Katowice, the Grand Prize at the 2002 National Festival of Polish Radio and Polish Television Theater and a Special Prize at Plovdiv 2002 International Television Productions Festival.
